The Chocolate Rule

For my project, I graphed all of the favorite flavors of individuals who claimed chocolate was one of their favorite flavors to see if there was a correlation between liking chocolate and liking sweeter flavors overall. My visualization shows the strength of the correlation between the flavors based on how many times a flavor was repeated. The strongest flavor correlations were between chocolate and vanilla and chocolate and coffee. The visualization shows that the flavors that were repeated more often are closer to the center and their nodes are a lighter shade of brown than flavors that were only mentioned once. The edge weight is also a representation of how many people mentioned they liked both chocolate and another flavor.
The data shows that individuals who claim to like chocolate tend to like fruity flavors and other sweet flavors. There were also multiple individuals who like saltier flavors such as meat but also claim chocolate is one of their favorite flavors. Overall, the strongest correlations between chocolate and other flavors are generally sweet flavors or flavors that are commonly used in desserts and candies, such as peanut butter.
